Rumors previously surfaced claiming that Infinite’s poor performance on Xbox One led to the delay, though these reports remain unconfirmed at the time of writing. Revealing the news of the new anticipated launch via a lengthy blog post, however, Project Lead Joseph Staten revealed called it “the beginning of the adventure”.

Spanning across the wider 343 Industries team, the blog post also detailed the work that’s gone into Infinite’s art direction and how much of the game’s improvements are based on feedback from July’s gameplay demonstration, including improvements to the now-infamous “Craig The Brute.”

The blog also offered a first look at Halo Infinite’s multiplayer with multiple screenshots, though they sadly didn’t detail any specific new features outside of armor customization, for which 343 are promising “Halo: Reach levels of armor customization”. That being said, Microsoft have previously confirmed the multiplayer portion of Infinite will be free-to-play and run at 120fps.
