“I grew up being on YouTube and would ceaselessly see the young Black producers and was consistently energized by them. He was one of them,” Halle says. “I completely neglected him. Anyway by then I saw that he was dropping music, and I really leaned toward this one tune. Inadvertently he informed me — and the rest is history.”

In March, DDG certified his relationship with Bailey through a birthday acknowledgment post on Instagram that he captioned, “Happy Birthday to the beautifulest, the flyest, the best love you ceaselessly @hallebailey.” Halle hadn’t spoken directly about her reverence life as of not very far in the past.
