In recent months GOG added the original Warcraft: Orcs & Human and sequel Warcraft II: Battle.Net Edition as a bundle, as well as the first Diablo title, which spawned the entire action RPG genre.

When DIablo was first made available in March fans clamored for the unofficial Hellfire expansion, and GOG has now delivered. Hellfire is officially available for all owners of the base Diablo and features high resolution support as well as fixes to work better on Windows 10 systems.

GOG issued this announcement about the addition today:

For those who haven’t picked it up yet, the hack ’n slashing dose of nostalgia that is Diablo can now be bought for 10% off during GOG’s summer sale.

Hellfire offers a non-canonical single-player storyline where players must defeat a powerful demon named Na-Krul who is threatening Tristram. The expansion also adds a Monk class, new weapons and items, new missions, locations, dungeons, and enemies. Hellfire will be accessible while launching the original Diablo.

Fans who aren’t stoked about the news that the upcoming Diablo: Immortal will be a freemium mobile title can at least re-live the original game with its third party add-on now, but don’t forget there are plenty of other quality Diablo clones out there these days!

If you didn’t care for the direction of later titles, keep in mind that Grim Dawn is still going strong to scratch that classic ARPG itch, while Warhammer just go its own action RPG hack ’n slash title Chaosbane.
