The cult classic hit, directed by Michel Ancel, was considered a commercial failure when it was first released, in 2003. Even though it was praised at the time (it received a nomination for game of the year, in 2004), but when it was re-released for the Xbox 360 it did very well.

Maybe one of the reasons they are giving it away, and perhaps a reason to play the game, is the fact that the sequel – Beyond Good and Evil 2 is currently in pre-production.
The only catch is that you have to play it on Uplay, the online gaming platform of Ubisoft.
It’s important to keep in mind that each game is free for a limited time. There are still two games, currently unknown titles, scheduled to be given for free in November and December.
