Where does she work? Anywhere. Literally any Dendro team in-game. So she becomes an even better unit if you’re especially fond of playing Dendro team comps. Plus she’s easy to play and build – low investment is enough to make her work. But she also scales well with higher investment. Her only general weakness is being more fragile as an on-field unit – she’s more easily staggered and moves slower than most characters. This is due to her having a short model. Other than that, she’s an overall great unit – aka the premium Dendro unit.
Pros & Cons
Nahida Strengths
Nahida’s skill is the center of her kit – it’s also the main source of her damage and Dendro application. Its marking mechanic can basically link multiple enemies until a certain distance. Triggering an elemental reaction on opponents affected by this mark will also deal an instance of Dendro damage. This is called the Tri-Karma Purification, and it scales based on Nahida’s ATK and Elemental Mastery. Additionally, simply triggering this effect on one marked opponent will deal damage to every linked opponent. This means that she can effectively damage multiple enemies even when they’re out of range. So she’s an exceptional unit against AOE – even in teams without a grouper. However, only a maximum of 8 opponents can be marked by her skill. But it has a really short cooldown of 5-6s, so you can easily refresh it when some marked opponents die. Not every attack applies an element. Instead, character abilities often have an Internal Cooldown (ICD) that determines how often their attacks apply an element. Nahida’s skill Dendro application has no ICD. So every hit dealt by her skill and the Tri-Karma Purification effect will apply Dendro. This makes her a very consistent and reliable source of Dendro application. Plus Tri-Karma Purification has a very short cooldown of around 2.5s, so she can effectively apply Dendro every 2.5s when off-field. Nahida’s Dendro application further increases when she’s on-field thanks to being a catalyst user. Nahida basically fits into every Dendro team in-game – and she works well in all of them. This includes Bloom, Hyperbloom, Quicken, Spread, Aggravate, Burning, and Burgeon teams – aka every Dendro team you can think of. Plus, she’s great as both an off-field and on-field unit. Her Dendro application is enough to let her take a backseat off-field. While her on-field damage is also good enough to make her normal/charged attacks worth using. Nahida already works well as a Dendro applicator even at low investment – but she also scales really well with more investment. This is thanks to her also high personal damage or damage multipliers, especially at higher investments. So she’s an especially worthy character when it comes to leveling and upgrading.
Nahida Weaknesses
Nahida’s only general disadvantage is having a small character model. This means that she has slightly slower movement speed compared to taller characters – thus making it a bit difficult to dodge or run from opponents. Additionally, she’s a catalyst user, and ranged characters are more easily staggered than melee units. This is mainly a weakness when using her as an on-field unit. Still, defensive options such as shielders or healers can solve this problem. Nahida’s Tri-Karma Purification applies a lot of Dendro – enough so that it easily buries the Electro aura of opponents in Quicken teams. This makes it difficult for Anemo units to swirl Electro off enemies. Failing to proc the 4pc. Viridescent Venerer (4VV) set on Electro is a damage loss. However, this can be solved with proper rotations – just cast the Anemo character’s skill or burst before Nahida. This effectively lets you proc 4VV.
Are Nahida’s Constellations Good?
Nahida has great constellations, but none of them are needed. She’s already a really powerful unit at C0. But if you’re still planning to pull for constellations, her most notable constellations are C2, C3, and C6. C2 is generally the best place to stop. It’s an early constellation – so relatively cheaper –, and it’s a significant buff to both Nahida and her teams. And if you intend to pull for other constellations, here’s a closer look at each one to help you out.
C1: The Seed of Stored Knowledge
When her burst is unleashed and the elemental types of the party members are being tabulated, the count will add 1 to the number of Pyro, Electro, and Hydro characters respectively. This lets Nahida better benefit from the different effects of her burst. It is a small damage increase but generally inconsistent and hard to gauge. It’s not recommended to actively pull for her C1. Instead, it’s highly recommended to go for her C2 if you have this already.
C2: The Root of All Fullness
Opponents that are marked by Seeds of Skandha (through her skill) applied by Nahida herself will be affected by the following effects:
Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reaction damage they receive can score CRIT hits. Their stats are fixed at 20% CRIT Rate and 100% CRIT Damage. Within 8s of being affected by Quicken, Aggravate, or Spread, DEF is decreased by 30%.
This is Nahida’s best early constellation – and it’s a really strong one. It basically buffs both Nahida and all of her teams. It’s roughly a 15%-30% increase in reaction damage. This doesn’t take into account the additional team DPS gained from the DEF shred.
C3: The Shoot of Conscious Attainment
Increases her elemental skill talent level by 3. This talent upgrade doesn’t affect her reaction damage, only her personal damage. So it’s especially good for a higher invested Nahida – or it makes her even more worth building.
C4: The Stem of Manifest Inference
When 1/2/3/4 or more nearby opponents are affected by her skill’s Seeds of Skandha, Nahida’s Elemental Mastery is increased by 100/120/140/160. This buffs her reaction damage. It’s a good damage gain but less impactful compared to her C2 and C3.
C5: The Leaves of Enlightening Speech
Increases her elemental burst talent level by 3. This is one of Nahida’s worse constellations – it does buff her burst and its additional effects but not by a lot. Instead, it’s highly recommended to go for C6 if you already somehow have C5.
C6: The Fruit of Reason’s Culmination
When Nahida’s normal/charged attacks hit an opponent affected by her skill’s seeds during her burst, she triggers Tri-Karma Purification: Karmic Oblivion on that opponent and all linked opponents. This deals Dendro damage based on 200% of Nahida’s ATK and 400% of her Elemental Mastery. This is considered elemental skill damage and can only be triggered once every 0.2s. This effect can last up to 10s and will be removed after Nahida unleashes 6 instances of Karmic Oblivion. C6 incentivizes you to use and build Nahida as an on-field unit. It’s basically a significant damage and Dendro application increase.
