Dating back to 2006
Many fans of the game series, Gears of War might recognize the song “Mad World” from the original release of the game back in 2006. While this Ultimate Edition trailer does pay tribute to the original game’s release trailer, Microsoft laid it out very clear stating that it is “one of the most recognizable trailers in gaming:”
The original trailer for comparison
New and Improved
By paying homage to the first game, Microsoft is showing off that the Ultimate Edition has been remastered with 1080p graphics and 60 fps during multiplayer.
Since Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a remake of the first game, it’s bound to look more polished than ever, with the technology that has improved during the past near decade since the original release.
Older versions for Free, Xbox One Bundle
When purchasing Gears of War Ultimate Edition, not only did loyal fans of the series get a copy of the remastered edition, but they also got access to the upcoming Gears of War 4 Beta, and free copies of Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, and Gears of War: Judgement.
A special Gears of War Ultimate Edition bundle of the Xbox One is also available for the price-tag of $349. That includes a 500 GB Xbox One console, as well as a single controller and the Gears of War Ultimate Edition game. Perfect for any fan who is lacking the next-gen Xbox One console.
If you are planning to play Gears of War Ultimate Edition, it releases on August 25th for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
What song would you substitute in for Mad World? I have yet to pick a better song for such an epic trailer.
